Before the Lever Is Pulled: Who Will Florida Belong To?

Today, Florida decides whether it governs itself or becomes just an extended branch of a private club Floridians will never belong to.

This election isn’t about red versus blue. It is about who Florida belongs to: the people who live here, or a cabal of powerful billionaires and out-of-state developers.

Option one: We heed James Madison’s advice on balancing power. We accept gridlock on ideological theater, while forcing David Jolly and a Republican supermajority to actually sit down and deliver relief on property insurance and electric bills.

Option two: We sleepwalk into an unchecked, Trump-controlled Florida. A compliant executive branch, open-door corruption, and a corporate land grab where hyperscale data centers drain our aquifer and pave over our state under Governor Byron Donalds.

I did what I could to prevent the latter and cast my vote for David Jolly.

When a political machine assumes your loyalty is guaranteed, the only conservative move left is to reach for the emergency brake.

Will conservatives simply pull a party lever out of habit and conditioning, or will they protect their homes from the men who view Florida’s land, water, and wealth as theirs for the taking?
